The Grand Palais in Lille, France has been chosen to host the 2009 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game European Championship taking place over the weekend of June 27th and 28th 2009.
Situated in the centre of Lille, the Grand Palais’ well lit and open spaces will provide the perfect setting for the highest caliber of Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card dueling.
This is the first time a French city will be hosting this prestigious event. Situated in the heart of North-west Europe, Lille is a perfect location due to its excellent transport links and it’s proximity to many major European cities.
Running at the same time, The Dragon Duel European Championship will also take place, exclusively for competitors aged 12 and under. Winners from Local and Grand Qualifying Dragon Duels will move forward to the Dragon Duel National Championships and winners will then be invited to compete in Lille.
As well as these two main events, in Lille, there will be a series of side tournaments and special events for everyone to enjoy. More details about these exciting events will be announced in due course.
