World of Warcraft 2008 World Championship Paris – A New Champion is Born!

The World Championship in Paris is now complete! 436 players battled out but only one would become the 2008 World Champion. Jim Fleckenstein from Virginia USA fended off Laurent Pagorek from France in a nerve-racking 5 game Finals match. Jim played his aggressive Horde Kil’zin deck and Laurent had the Vor’na the Wrected Horde Control deck, which utilized the new Black Temple Raid Deck cards, attempting to give him the edge!

Much fun was had by all and the UK was well represented with 29 players in the main event and a few more traveling for moral support and side events.

A special congratulation goes to 2007 Yu-Gi-Oh! UK National Champion Andrew ‘Lammy’ Lam. Lammy finished 10th in the World Championship and took home a Playstation 3, an iPod Touch and €2000 for his troubles – nice one!
